Why Build Wealth
Written by Jenn Leydon on December 27th 2018
One topic I've been exploring lately is wealth. What is it and why go through all that trouble to build it? If you're living paycheck to paycheck could you possibly ever get a chance to stop working? Why go through all that trouble when you can spend now and be happy?

It all comes down to what you value, what you think is important and what you deserve. Do you value instant gratification over your long term goals? If you're lucky enough to live into your retirement years, do you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor or want to work until your legs give out?  Do you want to stop working for a few years to help your children navigate adolescence or would you rather have that giant house that you can't afford to keep up?  Do you want to spend more time on your hobby and enter into an entrepreneur venture or would you rather that brand new car and 63 inch TV? If you're answer to these questions are the former than building wealth allows you to do it.

The first step to building wealth is how you view it. If you think money is a good thing than you've probably amassed a decent amount by now.  However, if you want to be wealthy and you view having money as a bad thing then you're not going to take the steps to make it happen. You have to see money for what it is, a tool to get you what you want. What you value. What you deserve and think is important. Once you do that the steps are easy and fall right into place.

And remember this applies to all income levels. It doesn't matter how much you make because you're expenses will always rise to your income. So if you're not building wealth now its not going to happen with that next pay raise or promotion. You have to plan for it and do it.
